The Casual Chef

I have no formal culinary training, but what I lack in training I make up for in passion for food. Specifically...passion for preparing food. Don't get me wrong -- eating is great -- but even more satisfying is the art of combining a list of benign ingredients to create the perfect dish...and then eating.

Simply put, good food simply tastes better when you can make it yourself. Though this title is self-awarded, I am a very good casual chef, but not a GREAT one. This blog, therefore, will be dedicated to chronicling my path to becoming a great casual chef as well as providing help to anyone else interested in impressing a significant other (or potential significant other), family member, roommate, complete stranger, or more importantly yourself with what will soon be your new found amateur culinary expertise.

So grab a beer, fire up your grill/stovetop/fondue pot* and let's cook.

*I promise to you that in no circumstance whatsoever will I make another reference to a fondue pot throughout the entire course of this blog.
